Getting Started

Greetings~! Allow me to introduce myself and what this webpage is all about. I am Dava and I have designed this Webpage in order to assist Journey Christian Church of Tracy, CA on a fund-raising endeavor to help provide a short-term mission to the small Central American country of Honduras. In these hard economic times, there is such a need for financial help for so many worthy causes it is hard to know where to give. Right now, with the tragedy of the tsunami and the victims it left behind, we dare not try to compete. However, there is still much to be done to help the children of Honduras. The children from the rural areas of Honduras go without basic schooling supplies, enough clothing, shoes and other basic needs. I am offering this website as an opportunity for folks to extend their generosity in small ways for yet another worthy cause.

I will be going with a small group of 12 committed people from our church, including my 17-year old daughter, Erin, to bring shoes, baby items, books, a special craft class, and spiritual uplifting to families with special needs in some of the rural areas of San Pedro. If you can find it in your heart to contribute some small donation to this endeavor, our church, Journey Christian Church of Tracy, CA, the Lifeline Christian Ministries and the families and children impacted by these outstanding mission opportunities, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts~!

Why This Mission?

Honduras not only owns the sad distinction of being the poorest country in Central America, but it is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere*. It has a land mass area of about 43,201 square miles* with a population of about 5,863,000*. The population is 54 percent rural*. Honduras is a poor country, and the majority of Hondurans work under extremely difficult conditions*. Our Church has chosen this small mission for a variety of reasons. One of the most important is that LifeLink is already an established Christian Church there. It is under their established mission program that allows us to know exactly what is needed, who needs it; and the methods to get the most of what we can bring to those that really need it. Lifelink already has the base program there and they are familiar with the territory. They not only know the exact specifics of which items are needed, but they also already know exactly how best to dispense them. They are well known for their fair and honest administration. Almost 95% of all donations and proceeds go directly to the families and children of Honduras that most need it~!

What Can You Do To Help?

First, the most important thing you can do is help us spread this information to increase our opportunity to reach others. Ask those without computers and or computer access, to consider making a small contribution or donate shoes or stamping items to our mission.

Any contribution you make towards this endeavor would be an amazing gift on behalf of the children and families we hope to serve. Sending a financial donation, of any amount, no matter how small or large, would be gratefully received. Even a $10 dollar contribution would go far~! To make it even easier, We have added a secure online PayPal donation button on the left. You do not need to belong to PayPal to use it. If you were able to send any single one of the suggested items or a combination of any items as listed in the boxes above, your contribution would directly go to a needy child in Honduras. There are additional links at the left that have more ideas on how you can help.

With a contribution of $50 dollars or more, I would be more than happy to list you as a sponsor and create a link to your website or business, proudly displaying your logo, or cite your company name and address on the sponsor's page~!
